My Maker Interests
My professional efforts include all aspects of 3D model interchange, visualization, printing and scanning using the Web.
I lead specification development in the X3D Graphics Working Group for the non-profit Web3D Consortium. I also serve as Principal Investigator for the X3D Model Exchange at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey California.
The Model Exchange takes an open-source, open-standards, architecture-neutral approach to storing and sharing 3D models and metadata. This provides a flexible basis for sharing with end users and other systems.
